Leona Lewis Performs At Nelson Mandela Concert
Leona Lewis gave an excellent live performance at Nelson Mandela's 90th Birthday '46664' Concert for HIV Aids last Friday night (June 28, 2008). In front of over 50,000 people in Hyde Park, London, Leona sang two of her popular songs "Better In Time" and then "Bleeding Love". She is seen posing in front of a Mercedes-Benz in the colourful Roberto Cavalli dress she was wearing for the evening. Mercedes had donated the car, and it was signed by each of the performing acts during the concert as one of the bid items for a charity auction to be held in aid of Mandela's '46664' Foundation. For her number one hit "Bleeding Love", she sang it with emotion and was cheered by the entire crowd to almost the same level as Queen and Paul Rodgers who came on later in the evening as one of the closing acts. Leona took time out to wish Nelson Mandela a happy birthday during her performance. She said that she would never have believed she would be up singing in front of Mandela, someone her Grandmother had told such wonderful stories about in her childhood. The Concert was presented by Mercedes-Benz and Zain, and supported by Investec. It was shown on Mercedes-Benz's Internet IPTV Channel, which is a high technology high bandwidth Internet entertainment channel that they have launched. |
