Amy Winehouse Sings To Support Nelson Mandela's Cause
Amy Winehouse made a special effort to arrive and sing at Nelson Mandela's 90th Birthday Concert for HIV Aids, held in Hyde Park London last Friday evening (June 28). She was cheered by the crowds as she arrived on stage, and demonstrated her unique musical talent as she opened with "Rehab" and then moved on to her hit "Valerie". Seen here sitting on a Mercedes-Benz, she joined other artists from the concert in signing the hood of the car. The car also had handprints in paint that had been applied by young children throughout London. Mercedes-Benz donated the car and it was to be included in an Auction to support the 46664 Mandela Foundation complete with all of its famous signatures. Other artists who signed the Mercedes while the concert was ongoing were Leona Lewis, Queen and Paul Rodgers, Annie Lennox, Simple Minds, The Sugababes, Razorlight, Jamelia, Zuccero, Geri Halliwell, Andrea and Sharon Corr, Eddy Grant, the Soweto Gospel Choir, Simple Minds, Peter Gabriel and Quincy Jones. The Concert was presented by Mercedes-Benz and Zain, and supported by Investec. It was shown on Mercedes-Benz's Internet IPTV Channel, which is a high technology high bandwidth Internet entertainment channel that they have launched. |
